Chinese ambassador congratulates Nepal's new PM

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai congratulated newly-elected Prime Minister of Nepal, Khadga Prasad Oli, on Sunday.

On behalf of the Chinese leadership and the Chinese people, Wu extended congratulations to Oli, who was elected as the 38th premier of the country through parliamentary vote on Sunday afternoon.

The Chinese ambassador expressed the hope that bilateral relations would be further strengthened during Oli's tenure as the prime minister.

Oli, chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist Leninist), secured his win in the election after defeating his arch rival Sushil Koirala, president of Nepali Congress. Oli garnered 338 votes while his rival got only 249 votes. Endi
