British FTSE 100 up 0.65 pct on Friday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Friday increased by 0.65 percent, or 41.34 points, to 6,416.16 points.

The London market had its eighth straight day of gains, while it got a gain of about 4.5 percent for the week, the biggest gain since December 2011.

The miner Glencore leading the way after it announced it was cutting its zinc output.

Share price of Anglo American increased by 7.23 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Glencore, Standard Chartered, Ashtead Group and BHP Billiton increased by 7.00 percent, 5.08 percent, 4.40 percent and 4.32 percent respectively.

Sports Direct International led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 6.63 percent, followed by Persimmon (2.84 percent), TUI (2.34 percent), National Grid (2.27 percent) and St James's Place (1.90 percent). Endit
