Colombians celebrate 2-0 victory over Peru in World Cup qualifier

Millions of Colombians celebrated Thursday their first victory 2-0 against Peru in the country's Caribbean city of Barranquilla, aimed to get a ticket to Russia World Cup 2018.
The first goal of the team lead by the Argentine Jose Nestor Pekerman was scored at minute 36 by the Colombian player Teofilo Gutierrez, while the second was cheered minutes before it was ending, at the minute 94 by Edwin Cardona, leaving all Colombians proud for its first victory held at home.
Even though the match started at 15:30 local time (20:30 GMT) in the highly warm Barranquilla city, millions of Colombians across the country found a way to watch live at work, bars and restaurants the opening match of the World Cup Russia 2018 South America Qualifier.
"Thank you guys for those goals that fill us with joy! Today our dream of Russia 2018 is closer," Colombia's President Juan Manuel Santos posted moments after the match, who was in Barranquilla's Metropolitano Stadium to watch the game, with some 47,000 spectators.
On the other hand, the Colombian capital woke up dressed up in yellow while many people in Bogota decided to go to work proudly wearing the soccer team shirts.
The next match is expected to be next Tuesday in Montevideo against Uruguay, that won for the first time ever against Bolivia in the height of La Paz. Endi
