Xinhua, October 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

For the first time, 30 Chinese producers of car components joined the auto show in Nitra, Western Slovakia, organizers said Thursday.

"Chinese exhibitors helped us reach a 17-percent annual increase in exhibitors compared to last year and an 80-percent rise in the number of premieres," said organizer Eduard Krcho.

Regarding the auto show, A Chinese diplomat said that many cars produced in Slovakia are popular on the Chinese market, stressing the potential for enhancing links between Chinese producers with their peers from Slovakia and beyond.

Slovak Economy Ministry State Secretary Rastislav Chovanec said he would continue supporting the automotive industry in Slovakia.

"We've secured funding from the European Union towards drawing up a list of suppliers for the car making industry. There are over 350 businesses in Slovakia that provide car parts to three car plants. We intend to map the capacities of Slovak businesses so they can become even more involved in further investments," Chovanec said.

A total of 210 exhibitors are presenting their wares at this year's auto show. On display are vehicles by 22 carmakers showcasing 37 Slovak premieres. Endit
