Xinhua, October 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

China will recruit more civilian personnel to roles with the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the Chinese People's Armed Police.

The spouses and offspring of military personnel who have fallen in the line of duty, and the spouses of those still in service will be eligible to apply to certain posts.

More positions will be made available for candidates with relevant work experience. It is hoped that the drive will improve recruitment in remote areas and unpopular positions.

The recruitment information will be publicized on Friday. People can sign up for examinations on the Military Talent Net website, 81rc.mil.cn, from Oct. 12 to 21, and the tests will be held on Nov. 22.

The General Political Department of the PLA has called for a transparent recruitment process. Endi
