Urgent: U.S. stocks post gains on surging global shares

U.S. stocks ticked up Wednesday after volatile trading, as global stock markets were boosted by mining and energy shares following a rebound in commodity prices.

The Dow rose over 0.7 percent, and the S&P 500 added 0.8 percent, while the Nasdaq increased 0.9 percent. Endit
