Angola to host international conference on maritime, energy security

An international conference on maritime and energy security will be kicked off Thursday in Luanda, the Angolan capital, organizers announced here on Wednesday.

The conference aims to coordinate strategies and boost information sharing in order to enhance maritime security and economic activities.

Officials and experts from more than 50 countries in Africa, Europe, America and Asia are expected to attend the conference which is jointly sponsored by Angola, the United States and Italy to discuss issues that also include marine pollution, illegal fishing, violation of maritime borders and illegal immigration.

A Luanda declaration on maritime and energy security is also expected to be adopted at the conference. Endit
