Chinese navy makes first visit to Poland

A Chinese navy fleet sailed into the port here Wednesday for a five-day friendly tour of Poland, the first such visit to the European country.

Comprising of a destroyer, a frigate and a supply vessel, the flotilla was warmly welcomed by the Polish side at the port Wednesday, a day marking the the 66th anniversary of the establishment of China-Poland relations.

During the Chinese fleet's stay here, Chinese and Polish naval officers will discuss counter-terrorism as well as hold a soccer match and a rowing race. The public will be allowed to visit the ships during the open day.

Gdynia is a port city established in the 1920s. Together with Gdansk and Sopot, it creates the Tricity metropolitan area. Endit
