British FTSE 100 increases 0.43 pct

The FTSE 100 Index, Britain's benchmark stock market gauge, increased by 0.43 percent, or 27.24 points, to 6,326.16 points on Tuesday.

The London stock index ended higher Tuesday, led by mining and energy producers as oil and some base metal prices rallied.

Oil producers Royal Dutch Shell, BP and BG Group were among the top risers as Brent crude and West Texas Immediate rose 4.8 percent to 51.59 U.S. dollars per barrel late in Tuesday's session.

The share price of Anglo American grew by 4.49 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Royal Dutch Shell 'B', Royal Dutch Shell 'A', Fresnillo and Tesco increased by 3.81 percent, 3.73 percent, 3.34 percent and 3.03 percent respectively.

Hikma Pharmaceuticals led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 4.10 percent, followed by SABMiller (3.75 percent), easyJet (2.54 percent), Shire (2.48 percent) and ARM Holdings (1.97 percent). Endit
