British FTSE 100 increases 0.18 pct on Thursday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Thursday increased by 0.18 percent, or 10.86 points, to close at 6,072.47 points.

Markit's purchasing managers' index on UK manufacturing eased to 51.5 in September from a revised reading of 51.6 in August, data from Markit showed Thursday.

Besides, the final seasonally adjusted Eurozone Manufacturing PMI eased to a five-month low of 52.0 in September, below August's 52.3 and unchanged from the earlier flash estimate, data from Markit showed Thursday.

Share price of London Stock Exchange Group increased by 3.64 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. TUI AG Reg Shs, BP, Royal Dutch Shell 'B' and BHP Billiton increased by 2.71 percent, 2.47 percent, 2.43 percent and 2.39 percent respectively.

Centrica led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 3.36 percent, followed by Morrison (Wm) Supermarkets (2.71 percent), Tesco (2.70 percent), Vodafone Group (1.99 percent) and Wolseley (1.97 percent). Endit
