Shakhtar lose to PSG 3-0 in UEFA Champions League

Xinhua, October 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

Ukrainian Shakhtar Donetsk suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the second Champions League group stage match at the Lvov Arena stadium on Wednesday night.

The French side, which started positively and scored as early as 7th minute thanks to efforts by Serge Aurier, was in control throughout the whole game.

All Shakhtar's attempts to counterattack were falling flat due to the uncoordinated actions of the team, which lost its key playmaker Taras Stepanenko, who was banned for his red card in a game against Real Madrid on Sept. 15.

In the 23rd minute, David Luiz doubled the lead for the guests and in the dying minutes of the second half, Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted the third goal to seal the PSG win.

With six points on the board, PSG is level with Real Madrid in Group A.

Shakhtar and Sweden's Malmo remain without a point after two games. Endit
