Singapore stocks close 0.39 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 10.96 points, or 0.39 percent, to close at 2,801.85.

A total of 1.19 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 814.6 million Singapore dollars (570.9 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 222 to 152, while 560 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 2.95 points, or 0.11 percent, to close at 2,790.89 on Wednesday. Endi
