Spain's consumer prices fall by 0.9 pct in Sept.

Xinhua, September 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

Spain's consumer prices fell by 0.9 percent in September when compared with the same month of a year earlier, according to advanced data of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) published on Tuesday by Spain's Statistical Office (INE).

The figure is 0.5 percent lower in comparison with the annual inflation rate of August, when prices fell by 0.4 percent on a year-on-year basis.

If this data is confirmed, it would mean Spanish prices fell for two consecutive months on a year on year basis, while falling by 0.3 percent from August to September.

The INE said prices fell especially because of lower prices of electricity, fuel and gasoline. Endit
