Evergrande coach Scolari confident ahead of Gamba Osaka clash

Xinhua, September 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

Guangzhou Evergrande's head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari showed his confidence on Tuesday ahead of the first leg of AFC Champions League semifinals in which the Chinese Super League defending champion will host Gamba Osaka of Japan.

"We are good. Our preparations are quite well and my players are all in good form," he said.

Different from playing against Seongnam FC and Kashiwa Reysol, Guangzhou Evergrande, the winner of this campaign in 2013, will play home match first, and Scolari said he liked to play the away match in the first leg.

"I prefer to play the away match first, but we have to play home match in the first leg according to the arrangement, we need another tactics, I hope we can get match," he said.

Evergrande's boss Xu Jiayin raised the bonus for the match. Zheng Zhi, the captain of Evergrande thought that bonus was just a small part of the game.

"Mr.Xu invited us for dinner last night, bonus was just a small part, the important things are the encouragement and the new requirements. As a professional player, bonus is not important, when we get on the pitch, what we fight for is victory. All of us want to take the victory, bonus is just a way to boost us," Zheng Zhi said. Endi
