Tongan teacher charged with indecent assault of 6 young boys

Xinhua, September 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

A 24-year-old school teacher in Tonga has been charged with indecently assaulting six young boys at a government primary school, local media reported Friday.

The incidents occurred at Popua Government Primary School, where the male teacher from a local village allegedly assaulted six students aged between six and 11 years old, according to Radio Tonga News.

All the victims complained of assault, and three filed for indecent assault.

The accused is on bail and will appear in court next week, Police Superintendent Tevita Fifita said, adding that assaulting on children is common in the Pacific island kingdom but not indecent assaulting. Endi
