Awards ceremony set for Asia Pacific Golf Summit

The 2015 Asian Golf Awards ceremony will be presented on October 15 as part of the 2015 Asia Pacific Golf Summit.

More than 40 top awards will be presented during the ceremony recognizing the top golf courses in Asia together with outstanding individuals in the industry.

The 2015 Asia Pacific Golf Hall Of Fame inductee is Le Van Kiem, an industry leader in Vietnam and an entrepreneur who has played a pivotal role in growing golf in Vietnam.

There will also be two recipients for the 2015 Asia Pacific Golf Life-Time Achievement Award and the first winner is the Hong Kong-based Iain Roberts, who has enjoyed a rich and varied career in golf.

Roberts is attached to the Mission Hills Group in China and for the past five years he has overseen golf operations at the world's biggest golf club, where he is Group Executive Director. He has also been crowned a PGA Master Professional.

The second recipient of the Asia Pacific Golf Life-Time Achievement Award is Singapore professional golfer Mardan Mamat.

Mardan is Singapore's first winner on the Asian Tour and is also the first player from his country to win a co-sanctioned tournament in Europe. He is also the first player from the Lion city to qualify and play in the British Open in 1997. Endi
