Over 150 Chinese compete in cycle race at Vladivostok

More than 150 Chinese cyclists on Wednesday competed in the international cycle race on the Far Eastern Russian island of Vladivostok.

The event was held on the Russian territory for the first time within the framework of the annual cycling festival "Vatternrundan China" at the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China.

About 200 amateur athletes from China, Russia and Colombia featured in the 27-kilometer route around the island, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in World War II and to the Day of Peace in the Pacific Ocean.

Tatiana Litskevich, the deputy of the director of tour center "Berkut" - the Russian organizer of the event, told Xinhua that "The majority of the cycle race participants visited Vladivostok for the first time, so they didn't struggle to come first. Many participants have been stopping to enjoy the landscape and to take the pictures."

Cycle race's organizers from China were the cycling enthusiasts' club from Changchun and the tourist agency "Far East", the Russian organizer was the tour center "Berkut" with the support of the Vladivostok's Administration and Federation of Cycling in Primorsky Kray. Endi
