French stock market index down 3.42 pct on Tuesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 dropped a whopping 3.42 percent to close at 4,428.51 points on Tuesday, down 156.99 points.

Due to the Volkswagen scandal, the CAC 40 of Paris plummeted on Tuesday with all of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Tuesday were Peugeot, which shot down 8.76 percent, Renault, down 7.12 percent, and ArcelorMittal, down 5.92 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 gained an advance of 1.09 percent to close at 4,585.50 points, up 49.65 points. Enditem
