Afghan police kill 25 militants

Xinhua, September 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

Units of police backed by the army have killed 25 Taliban militants during series of operations across the conflict-ridden Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, the Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.

During the operations launched in parts of Kunar, Nangarhar, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Kandahar, Oruzgan, Ghazni, Paktika, Paktiya, Herat and Helmand provinces, three insurgents were wounded, the ministry said.

Militancy and conflicts have gained momentum in Afghanistan as warring sides have been trying to secure more turfs and consolidate their positions before the onset of harsh winter in the mountainous country. Endi
