French stock market index up 1.09 pct on Monday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained an advance of 1.09 percent to close at 4,585.50 points on Monday, up 49.65 points.

Boosted by the good performance of Wall Street and the increasing price of petroleum, the CAC 40 of Paris closed higher on Monday with 34 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance.

The top three gainers on Monday were Essilor Intl., up 3.29 percent, Danone, up 2.67 percent, and L'Oreal, up 2.35 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Monday were Renault, down 3.18 percent, Peugeot, down 2.54 percent, and ArcelorMittal, down 2.02 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 dropped by 2.56 percent to close at 4,535.85 points, down 119.29 points. Endit
