Germany's benchmark DAX index nearly flat

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Thursday nearly stayed flat and closed at 10,229.58 points.

As the market is looking to the decision of the Federal Reserve on interest rates, the blue-chip index here added 2.37 points. The Federal Reserve decided to leave interest rates unchanged.

The two utilities companies E.ON SE and RWE AG St, which dropped significantly on Wednesday, led the risers' list by advancing by 9.02 percent and by 8 percent respectively. The sports company adidas AG rose by 3.66 percent. K+S Aktiengesellschaft, a standard and specialty fertilizers company, climbed by 1.89 percent. Deutsche Bank AG went up by 1.42 percent.

Henkel AG & Co. KGaA Vz, which operates in three areas including laundry and home care, beauty care and adhesive technologies, dropped by 1.82 percent. Infineon Technologies AG, a semiconductor producer, lost 1.61 percent.

ThyssenKrupp AG plunged by 1.35 percent. BASF SE slipped by 1.23 percent and Linde AG, an industrial gas company, went down by 1.21 percent.

The turnover stood at 3.58 billion euros (around 4.04 billion U.S. dollars). E.ON SE was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 288.12 million euros (around 324.84 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
