Aussie cop pleads guilty to drink driving without having licence: media

Xinhua, September 17, 2015 Adjust font size:

An Australian police officer who has never held a drivers licence has pleaded guilty to high-range drink driving after being by Highway Patrol officers in New South Wales.

The 46-year-old man had a blood alcohol reading of 0.170, more than three times of Australia's legal limit.

Local media reported that the officer has never been licensed to drive and held no exemption from being licensed.

This is despite the requirement that all NSW Police officers have valid driving permit.

NSW Police would not comment on how the man was allowed to be a police officer, saying the matter is still under investigation. Endi
