9 trafficked Myanmar workers repatriated from Indonesia

A total of nine trafficked Myanmar migrant workers, who are seamen, have been repatriated to homeland from Indonesia, an official report said on Thursday.
The returnees from nine townships in Myanmar arrived back to Yangon from Tanjung Pinang and Malibu Island of the Southeast Asian member country Wednesday after their citizenship status were verified by the Myanmar immigration authorities with the help of Indonesian counterpart, said the report.
It is the 6th group of Myanmar seamen repatriated from Indonesia following reports that they were trafficked and enslaved by Thai trawlers.
According to the report, a total of 176 Myanmar seamen have been sent back home to date. Endi
