Chinese shares open lower Thursday

Chinese stocks opened lower Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.64 percent to open at 3,131.98 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.19 percent lower at 9,872.04 points. The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, opened 0.88 percent higher at 1,943.29 points. Endi
