British FTSE 100 jumps 1.49 pct on Wednesday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Wednesday increased by 1.49 percent, or 91.61 points, to 6229.21 points.
Most sectors of London market closed higher, with Beverages, Oil Equipment, Services & Distribution and Tobacco led the gainers.
SABMiller led the top gainers of London blue chips with a gain of 19.89 percent.
Glencore, Aberdeen Asset Management, Randgold Resources and Hargreaves Lansdown increased by 5.19 percent, 4.43 percent, 3.97 percent and 3.87 percent respectively.
Mondi's share price dropped by 4.67 percent, topped the losers of the blue chips.
Share prices of Inmarsat, London Stock Exchange Group, Aviva and ARM Holdings declined by 1.96 percent, 1.86 percent, 1.10 percent and 0.71 percent respectively.
Trading volume in FTSE 100 companies was around 6 percent greater than the 30-day average. And the index has lost 2.02 percent so far this year.
The broader FTSE All-Share Index gained 1.29 percent on Wednesday. Endit
