Ireland sees fastest employment growth in EU

Ireland's employment recorded the highest increase in the European Union (EU) in the second quarter of 2015 compared with the same quarter of the previous year, according to Eurostat on Tuesday.

The EU statistical office said the number of people employed in Ireland grew by 3 percent in the second quarter.

It said Ireland's employment growth was closely followed by Spain at 2.9 percent and Luxembourg at 2.5 percent.

It also said the number of persons employed increased by 0.3 percent in the euro area and by 0.2 percent in the EU in the second quarter of 2015 compared with the previous quarter. Endit
