Tokyo stocks end mixed after BOJ keeps policy unchanged

Tokyo stocks ended mixed Tuesday after the Bank of Japan kept its monetary policy unchanged.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 60.78 points, or 0.34 percent, from Monday at 18,026.48. In contrast, the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange moved 0.17 point, or 0.01 percent, lower at 1,462.24.

Major gainers included agriculture and fishery issues, and food, while information and communication, and financing business issues led decliners.

The turnover was 2,302.69 billion yen (about 19.17 billion U.S. dollars). Endi
