Xinhua, September 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Some 145 militants have been killed in latest military operations across Afghanistan, the country's Defense Ministry said on Saturday.

"Within the past 48 hours, up to 145 terrorists were killed, 155 wounded and 11 others detained as Afghan National Army (ANA) carried out military and cleanup operations in different parts of Afghanistan," the ministry said in a statement providing operational updates.

The army also found and seized weapons in addition to defusing several roadside bombs and landmines, the statement added.

About 12 army personnel also lost their lives in separate attacks within the same period, the statement confirmed.

The Taliban insurgent group, which has been waging an insurgency of more than one decade, has yet to make comments. Endi
