(Sports)Int'l marathon to be held in Myanmar

The 4th edition of the annual event will be held in Myanmar's Yangon on Jan. 17 next year, race organizer said on Saturday.

Under the theme of Run for Children, the biggest marathon event jointly organized by First Myanmar Investment and Yangon City Development Committee are targeting more than 5,000 runners in 2016.

The nation's largest annual marathon will unite participants, charity ambassadors and the public to raise funds for under- privileged children in Myanmar.

The event provides a great opportunity to showcase the dynamic city of Yangon on the international stage and bring together a diverse mix of people in the spirit of community and friendly competition.

The YYIM 2016 race categories include full marathon 42 km half marathon 21 km, 10 km Challenge and 5 km/3 km fun run/walk.

The start and finish point of the various races is Thuwanna Indoor Stadium. Endi
