Indian Air Force chief visits Vietnam to boost defense ties

Indian Air Force's head Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha and an Indian military delegation is on a three- day visit to Vietnam from Sept. 9 to 11 to boost bilateral defense ties.

At the talks with Vietnamese Chief of the General Staff of the People's Army of Vietnam Do Ba Ty here on Thursday, Arup Raha said India always considers Vietnam an important partner in its "Look East" policy.

Defense ties between the two countries have been developed on the basis of bilateral strategic partnership and the joint vision statement on defense cooperation for 2015-2020 period was signed by the two defense ministers in May 2015, said the Indian guest.

Do Ba Ty, for his part, said the visit of the Indian delegation led by Indian Air Force's head Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha to Vietnam will contribute to strengthening the traditional friendship between the two peoples and armies as well as promoting bilateral defense ties, according to the website of Vietnamese Ministry of Defense on Thursday.
