Chinese, Ukrainian businessmen set up trade association

Xinhua, September 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Fifteen Chinese and Ukrainian companies have launched a joint business association in a bid to promote economic and trade ties beteen China and Ukraine, the Ukrainian government press service said in a statement Monday.

According to the government press service, the newly established business body is known as China Trade Association (CTA).

"We view the establishment of the CTA not only as an opportunity to attract investments in Ukraine, but also as a chance for Ukraine to boost its exports to the People's Republic of China," the government press service quoted Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Gennady Zubko as saying.

Zubko hoped that the association, a non-profitable organization, would help businessmen from Ukraine and China to tap their cooperation potential in such areas as infrastructure, agriculture, high tech, while boosting the overall economic ties between Ukraine and China, especially bilateral trade between the countries.

Ukraine's official statistics showed the overall trade turnover of China and Ukraine stood at 8.594 billion U.S. dollars last year, and reached 3.23 billion dollars in the first half of this year. Enditem
