Xinhua, September 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least eight civilians were injured as a suicide bombing rocked Pul-i-Alam, capital city of eastern Afghanistan's Logar province on Saturday, said Mohammad Salim Saleh, the spokesman for the provincial government,

"A suicide bomber driving an explosive-laden car blew it up at the bazaar of provincial capital Pul-i-Alam at around 9:00 a.m. local time today, killing himself and injuring eight others, all civilians," Saleh told Xinhua.

Without giving more details, the official said investigation has been initiated into the case.

Meanwhile, an eyewitness on condition of anonymity said the casualties could be higher than reported as some people have already taken the victims to hospital or their home.

The suicide bombing in Logar coincided with the opening of the conference of donor nations at the Presidential Palace in Kabul on Saturday. Endi
