Rainfall to sweep central and E China

Xinhua, September 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

Rainfall will sweep areas of central and east China until next Monday, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) forecast on Saturday.

Torrential rain will hit parts of Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou and Guangxi, as well as most provinces south to the Yangtze River, with gale and hail in some places, said the NMC.

Beijing saw record rain this year from Friday to Saturday, while the temperature is estimated to drop below 22 degrees celsius, even the lowest at 14 degrees celsius.

The NMC suggested wearing more clothes and warned local authorities to monitor the conditions and take precautions against waterlogging, landslides and other disasters.

As rainfall weakens, the center has removed the blue alert issued Friday for heavy rain in north China and provinces along the Yangtze River. Endi
