Magnitude-7 quake hits Azerbaijan

An earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale rocked northwestern Azerbaijan Friday morning, without immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The quake occurred at 9:49 a.m. (0449 GMT) Friday in the city of Sheki, 325 km away from the capital city of Baku. Its epicenter was located 29 km from Sheki at a depth of 13 km, the Azerbaijani seismology service center said.

The temblor was felt over a wide area including Ganja, the country's second-largest city. Endi
