Yang, Zhu Lift China to 6th straight win in women's volleyball World Cup

Middle blocker Yang Junjing scored 14 points and Zhu Ting added 13 as world runners-up China beat Dominican Republic 3-0 for their sixth win in a row at the 2015 FIVB Women's World Cup.

With the 25-16, 25-17 and 25-19 victory, the Chinese women stayed in contention of the title and the tickets to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. China have now won all three World Cup encounters against Dominican Republic and improved to an 8-1 win-loss record in the 12-team round robin tournament.

"We were well prepared relatively speaking. Our block and defense was good," said China coach Jenny Lang Ping. "We want to become better at reading the flow of the game. The pressure is building with each match. We will play Russia tomorrow and want to play to our full potential."

Zhang Changning contributed 12 points to China's victory and setter Shen Jingsi received the Most Impressive Player award.

Having reached the top six and fought to full sets against China in both of their meetings at the World Championship last year, Dominican Republic were obviously affected by the absence of Bethania de la Cruz. They stayed within 10-9 in the second set, but China surged away with a 9-4 run and never looked back.

After giving out a total of 23 points through errors, Dominican Republic slipped to a 4-5 win-loss record with two more matches in hand. Endi
