1st LD: 15 people rescued, 14 killed after boat capsizes in Malaysian waters

So far 15 people have been rescued and 14 confirmed dead after a boat carrying about 100 people capsized early Thursday morning off the western coast of Malaysia in the Malacca Strait, according to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).
Mohd Aliyas, a MMEA official, said here in a press conference that 15 people, among them 14 men and one woman, have been rescued, while 14 bodies, among them 13 women and one man, have been found so far.
He said that maritime authorities received the report of incident at 10:37 a.m., and a rescue operation has been carried out. The passengers were believed to be Indonesian migrants.
The official said that there were two possible causes for the accident, which were overloading and bad weather. Endi
