Mexico to face Brazil in FIBA 2015 Americas Championship

Mexico on Wednesday will face the powerful Brazilian squad in the third day of FIBA (International Basketball Federation) 2015 Americas Championship here.

Mexico, led by Spanish coach Sergio Valdeolmillos, debuted Monday with a 84-66 victory against Dominican Republic. Orlando Mendez scored 24 points, Gustavo Ayon 18, Hector Hernandez 12 and Jorge Gutierrez 11.

Ayon, power forward of Spain's Real Madrid, also achieved 11 rebounds, while Juan Toscano passed seven times.

Mexico has the challenge to face Brazil, which defeated 71-65 Dominican Republic and lost to Uruguay 71-57 on debut.

As part of Group B, Panama defeated Uruguay 78-71 and will face Dominican Republic on Wednesday.

On the other hand, as part of Group A, Cuba will face Canada, who has nine players from NBA.

Cuba lost 73-52 to Venezuela and 91-61 to Puerto Rico. Canada was defeated 94-87 by Argentina. Endit
