UK Yunnan Business Association set up in London

UK Yunnan Business Association (UKYN) Wednesday was set up in London with an aim to boost business, social and cultural bonds between China's Yunnan province and Britain.

Noting that Yunnan has diverse resources and culture, and is undergoing economic forms with good development potential, Mao Zhocheng, director of UKYN, said the association aims to promote mutual understanding and interaction of enterprises from the southwest Chinese province and Britain.

Data showed in 2014 Yunnan's gross domestic product grew 8.1 percent. From 2011 to 2013, the province's economic growth was 13.7 percent, 13.0 percent and 12.1 percent respectively.

Foreign trade of the province also recorded a rapid growth, with the total value of imports and exports of Yunnan province in 2014 was 181.98 billion Chinese yuan (29.62 billion U.S. dollars), rising by 16.2 percent compared to that of 2013. Endit
