Peru to face Colombia in Russia 2018 Qualifying Tournament

Colombia will face Peru at its first match in the South American qualifying tournament for Russia 2018 World Cup on Oct 8, the Colombian Football Federation (FCF) informed on Wednesday.

According to local media, Juan Felipe Mejia, FCF Director of Communications, said the Colombia-Peru game will be played in Roberto Melendez Stadium, located in Barranquilla (northeast).

Mejia also said the stadium will be remodeled by Baranquilla's local government.

The tickets for the match will go on sale beginning from Sept.14.

Next Tuesday, the national teams of Colombia and Peru will play a friendly match in New Jersey's Red Bull Arena, United States. The Colombian national team arrived two days ago to begin its training sessions in the U.S.

In the recent Copa America held in Chile weeks ago, Colombia and Peru tied 0-0. Endit
