Zambian runners confident of reaping medals at All Africa Games

Zambian athletes have expressed optimism that they will reap medals at the All Africa Games that gets underway this weekend in Congo Brazzaville, the Times of Zambia reported on Wednesday.

The 11-member team is expected to leave for Brazzaville on Wednesday, together with judokas, paralympians, handballers and swimmers.

National coach Douglas Kalembo said his team was ready for the task ahead of them and that he was expecting a gold medal from African women 400m champion Kabange Mupopo.

"I have a good team and all of them have reached the All Africa Games standards, so I know we will bring back about four medals. I have a strong team that will also take part in the 4x 100m relay," he was quoted as saying by the paper. Endit
