No. 7 Ferrer sweeps into US Open third round

No. 7 seed David Ferrer of Spain took out Filip Krajinovic on 7-5, 7-5, 7-6, cruising into the third round of the US Open here on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old Ferrer has been suffering from an elbow injury since reaching the quarterfinals of French Open. He withdrew from Wimbledon. Even as recently as a few weeks ago, he was out of Montreal, citing the injury.

The talented 23-year-old from Serbia, ranked No. 102 in the world, doubled Ferrer in unforced errors, 48 to 24. Endit
