Liu Qibao, head of the publicity department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko on Wednesday.

China-Russian relations have been stronger than ever under the leadership of their current presidents, according to Liu.

China is willing to cooperate more and hold more exchanges with St. Petersburg to serve the China-Russia partnership, he said.

Russia is in favor of China's commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and is happy to remember history and promote world peace with the Chinese people, said Poltavchenko, who is in Beijing to attend the commemoration events on Thursday. Endi
