Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Liu Yunshan met here on Tuesday with visiting Lao President Choummaly Sayasone.

Choummaly, also the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), is visiting Beijing for the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said China is ready to strengthen its relationship with Laos through more cooperation.

Briefing the guest about the development of the CPC, Liu stressed the importance of maintaining discipline in the Party.

"The CPC would like to share experience with the LPRP and hold more exchanges, to boost progress in the two parties," he said.

Choummaly hailed the frequent meetings between leaders of both countries and parties, saying they had assured the strength of Laos-China ties.

Laos admires the CPC's party building and governance achievements, he said, expressing his hope to learn from China and cement exchanges in cadre training. Endi
