Xinhua, September 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

Thai police have arrested an important suspect in a recent deadly bombing attack at Erawan Shrine in downtown Bangkok, police spokesman Prawut Thawornsiri said on Tuesday.

The suspect was arrested in Sa Kaeo province while he was trying to cross the border to Cambodia, Prawut said at a press conference.

The suspect has been taken to Bangkok for questioning, he said, adding the nationality of the suspect has yet to be determined.

The man of an unknown age is believed to be connected with the bombing that killed 20 people and injured more than 120 others, the spokesman said, adding further questioning and examination of his DNA, clothes and other belongings are needed to find more about the suspect.

The investigators are currently communicating with the suspect in English, he said. Endi
