The Japanese Foreign Ministry has in its diplomatic documents museum launched an exhibition of the original Instrument of Surrender of Japan's surrender to the Allied Forces in World War II, the first show of the original document in 20 years.
The exhibition, which started Monday, will last till Sept. 12.
The Instrument of Surrender was signed on U.S. warship USS Missouri at Tokyo Bay by Mamoru Shigemitsu who was on behalf of the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government and Yoshijiro Umezu who was on behalf of Japanese Imperial General Headquarters on Sept. 2, 1945.(Japan-Surrender-Exihibition)

BANGKOK -- A female suspect in recent Bangkok bombings has contacted the Thai authorities to provide testimony, a spokesman of the National Council of Peace and Order said Tuesday.
Wanna Suansan, a Thai national who is facing an arrest warrant, is now residing in another country and has contacted the authorities, the spokesman, Winthai Suwaree, told a press briefing. (Thailand-Bombings-Female Suspect)

ISLAMABAD -- At least six people were killed and over 50 others injured in a suicide blast outside the office of a local official in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of Khyber Agency on Tuesday morning, local media and officials said.
Assistant Political Agent, Shahab Ali Shah, said that the suicide bomber wanted to enter his office in Jamrud, capital city of Khyber Agency, but blew himself up at the entrance gate upon resistance from the tribal police Khasadar Force.
