Latvia's GDP growth fastest among Baltic countries in Q2

In the second quarter of 2015, Latvia showed the fastest economic growth year-on-year among the Baltic states, Latvian national statistics office said on Monday.

According to the seasonally unadjusted data, the Latvian GDP in the second quarter of this year grew 2.7 percent year-on-year in constant prices, while annual economic growth in Estonia was 1.9 percent and the Lithuanian GDP grew 1.4 percent.

Latvia boasts the steepest economic growth in the Baltics for the second quarter in a row. In the first quarter of 2015, the Latvian GDP grew 1.9 percent year-on-year but the Lithuania and Estonian economies expanded by 1.3 percent and 1.1 percent respectively.

In the second quarter of 2014, both Latvia and Estonia showed a 2.3 percent economic growth year-on-year but the Lithuanian GDP increased by 3.4 percent. Endit
