Marcelo recalled to Brazil squad

Xinhua, August 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

Real Madrid's Marcelo has been recalled to Brazil's squad for friendlies against Costa Rica and the USA, the country's football federation (CBF) said on Sunday.

The 27-year-old replaces injured Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis in coach Dunga's 24-man squad, the CBF said in a statement.

Filipe is the fourth player to be cut from the squad due to injury. Daniel Alves, Oscar and Ramires have already been replaced by AS Monaco right-back Fabinho, Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho and Barcelona midfielder Rafinha.

Brazil will meet Costa Rica in New Jersey on September 5 and the USA in Foxborough, Massachusetts, three days later.

The fixtures will be the Selecao's first outings since their Copa America quarterfinal defeat to Paraguay on penalties in June. Endi
