Indian army kills 6 militants in northeast state

Xinhua, August 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indian army Friday killed six Naga militants in the northeast state of Nagaland, the military said.

Meanwhile, two other Naga separatist activists were also injured in the army operation in Nokalak in Tuensang district of the state.

The Indian army has been intensifying operations against Naga militants near the Myanmar border since an army convoy was ambushed, in which 18 soldiers were killed and 15 others injured.

A surgical operation was carried out along the India-Myanmar border by the army in June after the ambush, in which an unspecified number of rebels were killed. Endi
