LME base metals up again on Friday

The base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) were up again on Friday following strong gains overnight.

It was underpinned by a second day of resurgent Asian equities and higher oil prices.

The sentiment was still positive, but the fundamentals hadn't changed, a market analyst said.

In the metals, the three-month unofficial copper price rose 86 U.S. dollars, or 1.69 percent, to 5,181 dollars per tonne.

In other metals, the three-month unofficial aluminium price was up 37.5 dollars, or 2.39 percent, to 1,605 dollars a tonne. The three-month unofficial lead price was up 49 dollars, or 2.92 percent, to 1,727 dollars a tonne.

Meanwhile, the three-month unofficial zinc price was up 76 dollars, or 4.35 percent, to 1,823 dollars a tonne. The three-month unofficial nickel price was up 175 dollars, or 1.75 percent, to 10,187.5 dollars a tonne. The three-month unofficial tin price was up 375 dollars, or 2.70 percent, to 14,250 dollars a tonne. Endit
