Senior leaders urge full implementation of socialist core values

Xinhua, August 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Two senior Chinese leaders have stressed the importance of cultivating and implementing socialist core values at a meeting of the top political advisory body here.

Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said Friday that socialist core values have inherited the excellent traditional Chinese culture, embodied the essential requirement of socialism, and at the same time absorbed beneficial achievements from foreign civilization.

Liu Yunshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, also attended the meeting to brief the political advisors on the issue.

Political advisors should set strict demands on themselves, Yu said, adding that key figures and prominent social groups should play an exemplary role in practicing core values.

Efforts should be made to enable policies, laws, social governance and culture to create a favorable social environment to cultivate core socialist values, Yu said.

Political advisors at the Standing Committee meeting of the CPPCC National Committee voiced their opinions and gave constructive suggestions on upholding socialist core values. Endi
